Vicki M Griffith
August 13, 1941 – May 5, 2021

Vicki Marie Griffith, 79 years old, passed away at Leavenworth, WA on May 5, 2021 after a battle with Alzheimer’s.

Born August 13, 1941 in Yakima, WA to Richard B Leslie and Frances Ramona Lahar. Vicki graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1960. During her time at Wenatchee High, she met, on a blind date, M. Joel Griffith. Vicki & Joel were married on August 31, 1963 in Bellingham, WA.

Vicki & Joel continued to live in Pullman, WA, Madison, WI, Walla Walla, WA, and other cities in between. Often, Vicki worked as a secretary at various types of businesses. She worked at Birdseye, Manpower, a small engineering firm, for a professor at the local college and finally at a middle school. In 1994, she retired along with her husband.

Vicki is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joel Griffith, daughters Heather Bucklin and Amber Cormie, brothers Richard Leslie and David Leslie and sister Karen Leslie, 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and numerous family and friends. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Richard B & Frances Ramona Leslie, and one sister, Linda Batdorf.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 11 at 11:00am at a private cemetery in Cashmere. Relatives and friends are welcome to join for a reception at Milepost Brewery at 12:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Mountain Meadows Senior Living. Mountain Meadows gave the best support that we could ever ask for.

The family would like to send their thanks to many people at Mountain Meadows, Don (the hospice nurse), Sabrina for their help and support through this hard time.

Joel, thank you for sharing your lovey wife with us here at Mountain Meadows. There were many evenings Jeff and I would have so many laughs and walks with Vickie. Loved her smile and the way she would laugh at me when we tried to uncross her legs. Rest in Peace sweet lady. You are free of pain and running with the angels! Gonna miss ya Vicki!
Thoughts and Prayers to all of you!

We met Vicki at Mt Meadows with Joel. She always had a smile and loved to get complimented on her clothes, we even wore the same Patagonia down jacket. She enjoyed her walks and reminiscing about all their past trips thru photos and encouraging words from her loving husband. We will miss her. Sincerely, Caroline and Chuck Vance

May 5, 2021 is the day the incredible woman I was blessed to call mom went to Heaven. To say I am heartbroken is an understatement but I know that she is now completely healed and no longer suffering. What an honor it was to be Vicki Griffith’s daughter. She was the kindest, most loving and genuine person I have ever known. I will never forget watching the movie Sixteen Candles over and over again with you. Trips to Southcenter mall. Your delicious roll ups for breakfast. Always calling my friends “tootsie bell”. She loved being a mother to my husband Tom and they would have conversations on the couch for hours. She always enjoyed being in the kitchen with him being his sous chef. She loved being a grandma to our doggy Sammy- they would have “pudding time” and share a pudding together and he loved her so much. She loved being grandma to our doggy Sydney and would brush her for hours and she soaked it up. My mother is the greatest woman I have ever known. I know many people probably say that about their mothers but Vicki was truly something special. I will miss her forever but I am so grateful for the promise of Heaven and that someday I will see her again.

Thank you for visiting this page. Mom was loved by many people.

We are having a gravesite service on Tuesday, May 11 at 11am at a family cemetery. The directions can be found here Please note that it is dusty, dirty area with limited parking. If you would like to carpool, please meet at Heritage Memorial Chapel at 204 Cottage Ave (down the road from Cashmere Valley Bank). I will have signs as well to point the way to the cemetery.

We will be having a little get together at Milepost Brewery, aka Milepost 111, 407 Aplets Way in Cashmere (very fitting since she loved beer!) from 12:00pm - 3:00pm. We are only providing the drinks and will even toast her with her favorite beer, Hefeweizen, and her favorite drink, Vodka Gimlet on the rocks. If you would like to order any food, servers will be available to take your order.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Mountain Meadows Senior Living in Leavenworth. They were so kind and loving to mom.

Please leave a message below with stories, memories, etc. We would love to hear from you.
