Tamara "Tammy" Lynn Tooke
October 4, 1955 - March 8, 2021
East Wenatchee, Washington

Tamara "Tammy" L. Tooke, 64, a long time resident of the Wenatchee/Chelan Valley, passed away on March 8, 2021 at Central Washington Hospital after an extended illness.

Tamara was born on October 4, 1955 to parents Willette O. Took and Ruth A. (Colyar) Tooke. She joined the family, meeting her brother, Terry. Tammy grew up in East Wenatchee on a small farm and orchard. She went to local schools and graduated from Eastmont High School in 1974.

Tammy went to Portland, Oregon to attend floral design school - she became a florist at Milot-Mills. There in Oregon, she met and married Ron Rose. Later, Tammy went to work at Dolco Packaging for over 34 years.

Tammy loved to volunteer for just about anything. She loved doing many things and keeping busy. Some of her favorite activities were arts and crafts, refurbishing antique furniture, reading, music, traveling, and cooking. She also enjoyed her pet - which she adopted many.

Tammy is preceded in death by her parent, step=father Leonard Jones, her brother Terry, and step-brothers Charlie and Reyonald Jones. She is leaving behind many wonderful friends, Marcia and Jim Maxum, and sister-in-laws Marliss Jones and Rose Tooke, along with three nephews and one niece.

Tammy wishes for no services to be held but to remember all the good times shared with everyone she came in touch with.

I knew Tammy before we entered Mrs. Druzak's first grade at Grant School. Even though we were small, we would walk to each others' houses along the orchard road. Her brother Terry was friends with my brother, and I remember very well her stepdad, Leonard, and her mom Ardis. One of the things I always loved about Tammy was her laugh. As a 5 year old, I would sometimes get mad at her for absolutely no reason, and tell her I was never going to speak to her again. We always laughed about it later. As we got older, we had other friendships that developed, but I will always think of her as my very oldest friend. We played Barbie's together and she had this wonderful doll named "Chatty Kathy". Though we fell out of touch, when we saw each other, we chatted and reminisced as old friends do. I will always remember her nostalgically, with love, and I will miss knowing she is somewhere around town. God bless and rest in peace dear Tammy. (XO Alisa Riley Michael)

I am the daughter of Ben Tooke, Grand-daughter of Burrette O. Tooke. My name is Jacque Tooke-Bowen Phillips. Willette Tooke was my uncle, the youngest of about ten children in that family. I remember Terry, Tamara’s older brother visiting Grandma Tooke’s house on Walnut and Pine in Wenatchee. The last time I saw him he was about 2 years old. I never knew he had a sister. My dad, Ben Tooke had a son by his second wife. His name was Pat Tooke. He was a wonderful guy, a Vietnam vet, with a brilliant intellect. He passed away in 2020. I miss him. He was my only sibling. In regard to Tamara Tooke, I had no idea there were still any Tookes living in Wenatchee. My sincere condolences to her remaining family.
