Earl Vern Slocum (Vern), 86 years of age, of Wenatchee, died Thursday July 30th 2020, at his home in Wenatchee.

He was born on August 4th, 1933, to Earl and Cora Slocum in Wenatchee.
Earl grew up in Moses Lake area with his parents and two sisters.
He married his wife of 51 years Ruth Ann Slocum on November 14th, 1968.
Earl worked as a mechanic in the fruit industry; retiring from Tree Top and Hi Up.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing softball, pool and bowling. Earl was a social man and could be found drinking coffee and talking with the men at that Eagle Lodge in the mornings. He could always be found front row at every Apple Sox game. Earl always had a smart come back and loved to make others laugh. He had a loving heart and would give anything he had to help others in need.
Earl is survived by his wife Ruth Slocum, son Danny Rude of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, siblings Joy Washburn of East Wenatchee and Kathy Ramm of Moses Lake, and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Cora Slocum, and son Jeff Slocum.
Visitation will be Sunday August 9th, 2020 from 4pm-7pm at Heritage Memorial Chapel, East Wenatchee.
Funeral services will be held August 10th, 2020 at 10am at the Leavenworth cemetery.
