Mary E. "Abby" Slowe, 93, a 68 year Cashmere resident, passed away on, Saturday morning, May 11, 2019 at Cashmere Convalescent Center.

Abby was born on April 19, 1926 at Laona, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Charles John and Ethel Elizabeth (Weaver) Baltus. She was raised and received her early education in Laona, Wisconsin, graduating from high school in 1944. She continued her education at Vellin School of Nursing in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She received her Degree in Nursing in 1947. She met and was later married to Norman Benjamin Slowe on December 6, 1947 in Laona, Wisconsin. They moved to make their home in Cashmere in 1951 and there started their family. Once her children were old enough, she returned to Nursing and went to work at Wenatchee Valley Clinic. She was the nurse for Dr. Carl Schroederr prior to Dr. Proston. Later for Dr. Cadman and Smith. She retired from Wenatchee Valley Clinic in 1986. They continued to make their home in Cashmere. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Slowe on August 25, 2007.
She is survived by one daughter, Kay Ann Whaley of Tennessee and her very special friend, Henrietta Shull, Cashmere.She was preceded in death by her husband and done son, Charles B. Slowe.
