Robert K. Burnham
December 29, 1952 - December 19, 2018
Wenatchee, WA

Robert “Bob” Burnham, 65, a lifelong Wenatchee valley resident, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA, following a sudden illness.

He was born on December 29, 1952, in Wenatchee, WA, son of the late Orville and Roberta (Gilbert) Burnham. He was raised in East Wenatchee, WA, and graduated from Eastmont High School. He continued his education at Multnomah Bible college in Portland, OR. He returned to make his home in Wenatchee and soon thereafter went to work in Housekeeping, Shipping & Receiving, PC Education, and lastly the Engineering department of Central Washington Hospital. He retired in June of 2012 after having worked at the hospital for over 38 years. He married Kathy Hyatt on May 9, 1987, in East Wenatchee on their 10th-week anniversary of dating. They made their home together in Wenatchee along with his two boys, Bailey and Riley.

Bob was an accomplished musician and songwriter. He played piano from age 7, and later guitar and bass. “Bad Bob Burnham” played and sang in many local bands, including Oaxaca, Toons, and Switch. He enjoyed riding his Harley with friends, doing woodworking in his shop, watching sports, and spending time with visitors on his back porch.

He is survived by his wife: Kathy; children: Bailey and Riley; stepson: Jeff Hughes; sister: Janet Rumford; brother: Levoy; grandchildren: Jerrod, Jaxson, Sonya, Cody, and Matthew. He was preceded in death by his parents: Orville and Roberta; sister: Donna, and stepson: Andy.

I came to know Bob through Kathy, he was an extra treat for my visits of dropping off gowns to Kathy. What talent he had. He crafted a beautiful desk and so many hand made wooden bowls (I was so excited to have received one too!) He had fun creating, I could tell. Whether it was his new equipment he got for sharpening knives and scissors or his new riding lawnmower, I enjoyed talking about it all. It was always great to hear about some of his motorcycle trips too! Bob was a great photographer and captured beautiful images. I know he is in awe of the amazing landscapes in heaven right now. I am looking forward one day to see him in heaven and Bob can show me what he is designing next! Kathy, Bailey, Riley and family my thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Katrina

Bob and I were both Eastmont High Graduates, Class of 1971. We both shared his love for music, even playing in a Rock Band together. It is my regret that we never got to ride Harleys together, or play music together again. May you rest in peace Bob.

Bob was my cousin. We grew up together in East Wenatchee. Bob was more like a brother to my sisters and I than a cousin. He’d like to put on a rough exterior sometimes but inside he was a caring, kind man that loved his friends and family deeply. I still can’t comprehend that he is gone. My frequent thoughts and prayers are with you Kathy, Riley, Baily, Janet & Levoy. May God grant you comfort in your grief. Pam❤️
