Obituary for Garelon Dale "Garry" Fleming

Garelon Dale "Garry" Fleming
Garelon “Garry” D. Fleming
September 12, 1942 - October 29, 2017

Garelon "Garry" D. Fleming born September 12th, 1942 to James & Jessie Fleming in Brockwell, Arkansas. Garry was second youngest out of seven children, and when he was a young child they moved from Arkansas to Wenatchee, where his father worked for the railroad. Garry grew up in the Wenatchee school district, attending Whitman Elementary and graduating from Wenatchee High School in 1962.

Garry was proudest of his service to his country, he attended basic training in California at Camp Pendleton, serving as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp. from 1961 to 1967. His service included Vietnam as a sharpshooter, rifleman and pistol expert. His love of firearms carried on in his life from bird hunting with his family, to teaching his children and grandchildren how to shoot targets with colored water, and eventually having to replace the neighbors fence due to all the holes.

After returning from Vietnam, Garry married the late Beverly Cronkhite and had four children, Garry, Mike, Yvette and Tiffany. It was apparent that Garry's kids and grandkids were the highlight of his life; he spent numerous hours at the Owl Drug Soda Fountain with them reminiscing and sharing his love of old music. Garry was also a huge muscle car and motorcycle fanatic, having owned multiple mustangs and trucks that he rebuilt, and he loved atteding car shows with his family. He was an avid bowler and golfer, and enjoyed bowling on men's league with his high school friends.

Garry was co-owner of Stallings Athletic Company and loved meeting and helping people with their spotring good needs. He was also very active in coaching for his sons and grandkids in basketball and baseball. Some of the other career paths of Garry's were Silver Eagle Freight Company, Pybus Steel and Haglund's Trophies.
Garry met and re-married Sharon Wulf-Fleming on September 12, 2009, they were married up until his passing. Garry never hesitated to help someone and will always be remembered as selfless, kind and a soft-hearted man with a mean sense of humor.

Garry is preceded in death by his parents, James and Jessie Fleming; sisters: Billie, Alta Dean, Helen and Patsy; brother, Jim; and son, Michael. He leaves behind his loving wife, Sharon Wulf-Fleming; brother, Bob (Joan) Fleming of Spokane, WA; children: Garry (Maria) Koplowitz-Fleming of Bellingham, WA, Yvette (Eric) Stevens of Wenatchee, WA, Tiffany Fleming of Bellingham, WA; stepchildren: Alycia (Cass) Gebbers of Brewster, WA, Eric (Rose) Wulf of Wenatchee, WA, Tory (Erica) Wulf of Brewster, WA; numerous adoring grandchildren: Dariyn, Miranda, Makai, Dante, Marqessa, Elijah, Lorna, Dashiell, and Lily,Clay Wade,Corina, Andie Lee,Kailie, Meaghan, Anah, Brady,Paige and five great-grandchildren: Riley, Jackson, Corbin, Beau Marie and Ruby.

Garry went to be with Jesus on October 29, 2017 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on November 12, 2017 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, located at 1050 Eastmont Ave., East Wenatchee, WA.
