Jerry L. Roy
Jerry L. Roy, 64, a lifelong Wenatchee and East Wenatchee resident, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Central Washington Hospital.
He was born on June 24, 1953, in Wenatchee to Homer and Marjorie (Crowe) Roy. He was raised and went to school in Wenatchee. He went to work locally prior to making a brief move to Dallas, Texas where he worked with his uncle as a Plumber Apprentice. He returned to Wenatchee and went to work at Bendickson Pump and Irrigation. He worked at Bendickson until their closure in 1989. Jerry then went to work at Wells and Wade Irrigation. When Wells and Wade closed, he went to McCandlish Electric as a Warehouse Man. In the late 1990’s, he was employed at Dolco Packaging for over 10 years before his retirement.
On April 21, 2001, he married Melissa G. Snodgrass at Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. They made their home together in East Wenatchee.
Jerry was a member of the American Legion, Post 10 of Wenatchee. He especially loved being at home and spending time with his family. He enjoyed his motorcycle, his pets, camping, fishing and was very good at barbequing. He was an avid sports fan, especially liked the Seattle Seahawks and would only drive American made automobiles.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa G. Roy, of East Wenatchee; two children, Michael J. Roy, of East Wenatchee and Melissa Bromiley, of Renton, WA; his mother, Marjorie “Marge” Roy, of Wenatchee; three brothers, Tommy Roy, of Wenatchee, Jack Roy and Ron Roy both of East Wenatchee; one sister, Linda Seifert, of Edmonds, WA; five grandchildren, Dylan Roy, Cameron Roy, Mattison Roy and Ethan Roy all of East Wenatchee and Jaeden Bromiley, of Edmonds, WA as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Roy, and two brothers, Robert “Bob” Roy and Jim Roy.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, March 24th at 1:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post #10, located at 208 N. Wenatchee Ave., Wenatchee.
