Benjamin Neil Richardson
October 7, 1961 - February 27, 2018
Benjamin Neil Richardson, 56, of Wenatchee, passed away peacefully in his sleep early in the morning of February 27th, 2018, at his house.
Ben and his sister Ellen were born October 7, 1961 to Gail and Catherine (McGee) Richardson. He attended school in Wenatchee, Chelan, Manson, and finally Cashmere High School, graduating in 1980.
Ben had a lifelong love of music. He played bass and sang in a few cover bands in the Wenatchee area, including the Lazy Boys and Second Nature. He loved to participate in the local jams. He made many friends throughout this area, and will be missed very much. Ben also enjoyed snowmobiling, jet skiing and hunting.
Ben is survived by his brother, Brad (Maija) Richardson, of East Wenatchee, his sister, Ellen Massey, of Wenatchee, a niece, Shellana Richardson, of Costa Mesa, California, and his nephews, Rick Snell, of Seattle, and Gabe Massey of East Wenatchee. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and a brother.
The family would like to thank Central Washington Hospital and Harborview Medical Center for the care that they gave Ben for the past three months. A special “Thank You” to his lifelong friend and roommate, Tim (Buckwheat) Kirk, for putting up with Ben and helping him for the last decade, and for selflessly seeing to Ben’s round the clock needs the last few days of his life. Also, special thanks to Marilyn Martinson for help with Ben, and consolation for Tim.
A Remembrance Jam is being planned for Ben at Columbia River Brewery. It will be announced soon. Please continue to check his webpage for updates.
