Obituary for Steven Gustin
Steven Lee “Steve” Gustin, a 55 year Wenatchee resident, passed away at his home on Monday, January 15, 2018.
He was born on September 29, 1938, in Okanogan, WA, to the late Johnny and Lora (Kressler) Gustin. He was raised and attended school in Okanogan and graduated from Okanogan High School in 1957. He continued his education at Kinman University in Spokane where he majored in Business Administration and Accounting. He moved to Wenatchee in 1962 and went to work as the Data Processing Manager for Morris, Lee & Co CPAs. Later, he became General Manager for Northwest Data Processing in Wenatchee. He briefly worked as Sales Manager for Bud Smith Contracting before becoming a Sales Representative for I.D.S. " Investors Diversified Services", in Wenatchee where he was a financial planner and investment advisor. He loved investing and playing the stock market. He retired from IDS in 1995.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, his grandchildren and loved watching their sporting events. everything from baseball to barrel racing horses. He became an avid gardener, having grown his garden space to over a half acre in size. Hundreds of people in the valley were recipients of his produce. Over the past few years he became fond of taking care of the stray cats of the neighborhood. He was past president of the Wenatchee JC’s (Junior Chamber of Commerce), former member of the ELKS and Ducks Unlimited, where he had won a number of guns in their raffles.
Steve is survived by his wife: Sherry Gustin, Wenatchee, WA; Children: John (Amy) Gustin, Wenatchee, WA, Kim (Dan) Gettman, Wenatchee, WA, Angela (Tony) Anderson, East Wenatchee, WA, and Andy Anderson, Seattle, WA; Sister: Shirley Fulford, Omak, WA; numerous nieces and nephews, 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Lora Gustin and one Brother, Larry Gustin.
