James L. Voege
James L. “Jim” Voege, 65, a longtime Malaga resident, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at his home in Malaga.
He was born on September 6, 1952 in Wenatchee to the late Patric and Juanita Mae (Cleek) Voege. He was raised to the age of seven in Wenatchee before the family moved to Olympia. When he was nine, the family moved to Ephrata where he completed his elementary studies, junior high and high school. He graduated from Ephrata High School with the class of 1970. After spending the summer working in Alaska, he moved to make his home in Wenatchee. He initially went to work at the lumber mill up the Entiat before going to work at Keyes Fiber in Wenatchee.
He met Joann Lee Sprague in 1979 and they dated until being married on June 1, 1984 in Wenatchee. They made their home together in Malaga.
Jim continued working at Keyes Fiber and had worked in various capacities before becoming a Safety Control Coordinator. He retired after working at Keyes Fiber for over 35 years.
He enjoyed landscaping and gardening in his yard as well as fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joann L. Voege, Malaga; their son, Patrick Voege, Malaga; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marlee & Barry Dubnow of Seattle and Tamara “Tami” & Tim Yedinak of Wenatchee; One brother and sister-in-law, Scott & Jaynie Granger of Ephrata; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
